ABOUT
This is a project meant to preserve the actions towards sustainability of small local farming communities as a common. Local farmers should not be forced to change their behaviors as they are necessary for their survival. Farmers should be able to make changes themselves without relying on government subsidies or activist groups that take over their farms for extended amounts of time. Preventing further damage to the Amazon is a key piece in slowing climate change, but forcing farmers to reconfigure their practices while people in the Global North increase their beef consumption and live extremely unsustainable lifestyles is unethical.
This project looks to maximize the lifespan and efficiency of farmland, allowing locals to share it with less conflict and enjoy a healthier environment.
